UV Printing

A method of ink jet printing direct to a garment or hard good. You use specialized inks that cure after printing with an ultraviolet light that follows the print head. There are both Direct to Garment and Direct to Substrate style machines.

Tips from Our Experts

  • UV Printing on flexible products requires special ink that can move and flex with the substrate such as clear PVC. Be sure to check with your decorator or raw materials supplier for advice before printing.
  • Not all substrates are receptive to UV ink, but there are treatments available in the market to assist. Consult with your decorator and or consumables supplier prior to printing.
  • Always test new products prior to production to be sure you have the right jig or table for holding the substrate flat and stable. Most manufacturers can create custom jigs and tables for many products.
