Happy Holidays from the SanMar Decorator Solutions Team!
There’s one thing that makes a holiday get-together unforgettable, and that’s customized t-shirts. Now’s the time to be prepared for those crazy last-minute tee orders and learn about our top-performing styles for fast Direct-to-Garment (DTG) prints.
We’ve broken our selections down into two categories—Best and Better. Both feature great options for DTG; the Better category features more budget-friendly styles.
Best Options
These styles offer the most optimal printing surface for DTG.
- The DT106
The Perfect Weight Icon tee was built with DTG in mind. The soft cotton fabric includes a proprietary finish to create the perfect printing surface. Its heavyweight qualities allow the tee to take in more ink, resulting in less puddling. The finish eliminates most fibrillation, allowing more ink to make contact with the shirt.
- The DT104
A predecessor to the DT106, the Perfect Weight Tee is made of 4.3-ounce combed ring spun cotton. Its supremely smooth surface makes it perfect for printing. It has naturally low fibrillation, leading to a more vibrant print. It’s also comfortable to wear and features a fashionable cut.
- The DM130 and DM130DTG
The District Perfect Tri boasts an ultra-comfortable tri-blend fabric, combining combed ring spun cotton, polyester and rayon for the perfect drape. The DM130DTG adds PosiPrint technology, so there’s no need for pre-treatment. Just spray with distilled water and press for 30 seconds to lay down the fibers on the shirt. Available in 16 colors, this tee is perfect for on-demand printers!
- The DT6104
The stylish District V.I.T. Fleece Crew is the perfect choice for cooler temps (outdoor holiday parties, anyone?). Featuring 100% cotton—or a cotton/poly blend for heathers—and a combed ring spun face, it’s an ideal choice for fleece when it comes to DTG.
Better Options
The styles in this category are budget-conscious and compatible with DTG.
- The PC54 and PC54DTG
The Classic Core Cotton Tee performs well for most decoration methods, including DTG. Just make sure to pre-treat for an optimal printing surface. The PC54DTG adds PosiPrint technology, making the shirt ready to print right out of the box. For best results, we recommend misting with distilled water before a 30-second pre-press.
- The T200
This soft colorblocked raglan tee from Sport-Tek is available in many team colors, meaning it’s perfect for sports fans. Achieving great prints is a breeze, thanks to the combed ring spun construction.
- The DT1101
The District Perfect Weight Fleece Hoodie is a nice, thick fleece in a range of colors and fabric blends. It does well with DTG. Just make sure to lay down enough ink—it’s a thick fleece!
- The PC850
The Port & Company Fan Favorite Fleece is available in 10 colors and a range of fabric blends depending on color—all fantastic for DTG printing.
That does it for SanMar’s top DTG styles! We hope you found this article illuminating.
