The signature color for 2020 is a classic. Literally.
For 20 years, Pantone has chosen a Color of the Year to represent the year to come, based on influences from pop culture, social trends, film, travel, art and fashion.
The Pantone Color of the Year for 2020 was announced in early December, and it’s a choice is designed to instill calm, confidence and connection: Classic Blue.
Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, expanded on the meaning behind the choice. “A boundless blue evocative of the vast and infinite evening sky, Classic Blue encourages us to look beyond the obvious to expand our thinking; challenging us to think more deeply, increase our perspective and open the flow of communication.”
There is a depth and richness to Classic Blue that can be applied in many ways. “True to its name, Classic Blue can be regal, restrained and boundless,” wrote Kirsi Goldynia of CNN Style. “But it can also be edgy — even anomalous — utilizing a variety of tonalities, materials and prints.”
Classic Blue is easy to incorporate into a wardrobe or uniform. From the Alternative Heirloom Crew T-Shirt to the hard-working CornerStone® Select Snag-Proof Polo, Classic Blue can be the foundation for any professional ensemble. You can dress it up with the Port Authority® SuperProTM Twill Shirt or work it out while wearing the Sport-Tek® Dri-Mesh® Short Sleeve T-Shirt. Classic Blue is a versatile color you’ll find in many of the pieces you love from SanMar.
A vast and infinite blue washes across the sky as the sun sets on the day. As the year also draws to a close, we look forward to 2020 and seeing all the ways you use Classic Blue in the days to come.
